Man arrested for lewd behavior in public | Kirkland Police Blotter

Between Nov. 1-7, the Kirkland Police Department reported 461 traffic violations (14 DUIs), five animal calls, 46 alarm calls, 12 noise complaints, 1 fireworks call, three juvenile crimes,

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.

Between Nov. 1-7, the Kirkland Police Department reported 461 traffic violations (14 DUIs), five animal calls, 46 alarm calls, 12 noise complaints, 1 fireworks call, three juvenile crimes, eight calls of disturbance, 16 thefts, 21 car prowls, eight car thefts, 35 traffic accidents, four reported burglaries, 10 domestic violence calls, 11 calls for harassment, seven reports of illegal drugs, one alleged assault, 18 acts of fraud, 15 malicious mischief reports, seven calls of vice, one robbery, 16 school zone violations and four calls of suicide. At least 52 people were arrested.

Nov. 6

Assault: 10:44 p.m., 13000 block of 122nd Lane NE. A 36-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for assaulting his 40-year-old wife.

Nov. 5

Domestic violence: 9:19 p.m., 1100 block of NE 125th Lane. A 46-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for fourth-degree assault after getting into a physical altercation with his 40-year-old ex-wife. Police seized his assault rifle for safekeeping. A 15-year-old and a 10-year-old witnessed the incident.

Nov. 4

Assault: 4:59 p.m., 200 block of 10th Ave. South. A 22-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested for fourth-degree assault after she slapped her 54-year-old father on his arm and cheek during an argument. The dad told police his daughter suffers from an episodic mood disorder. She was booked into the Kirkland jail.

Nov. 3

Juvenile arrest: 1:55 a.m., 10601 NE 132nd St. Police contacted three juveniles and a 41-year-old Kirkland woman after hours at Juanita High School. Two juveniles who were consuming alcohol were each charged with minor in consumption. The woman was charged with furnishing alcohol to minors who are ages 15, 16 and 18.

Warrant arrest: 1 p.m., 11800 block of NE 133rd Place. A 58-year-old Seattle man was arrested on his civil contempt of court warrant. He was transported to King County Jail.

Malicious mischief, shoplifting: 4:53 p.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 25-year-old Renton woman was arrested for shoplifting at Costco. Loss prevention officers notified police that they followed the woman who allegedly hid some items in a purse. The police officer waited for 20 minutes outside of the Costco exit waiting for the female suspect. Loss prevention then notified the officer that the woman proceeded to walk in circles and place items in her purse, but was not making her way to towards the exit.

Inside the store, police detained the woman for questioning in the back security room. The woman had two purses, one which was a leather Kenneth Cole purse that belonged to Costco. Police found a hair steamer, a box of men’s underwear, shampoo and conditioner, socks and some make-up inside the purse. A loss prevention officer said the woman used a lighter to burn  through the plastic zip-ties on the some of the products’ original packaging. Police trespassed the woman from Costco, arrested her and also found she had a warrant out of Redmond for second-degree prowling and possession of burglary tools. She was charged with third-degree malicious mischief for the Costco incident.

Nov. 1

Assault: 1:01 a.m., 111 Central Way. A 42-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for masturbating against a woman in public. Another woman also witnessed the event. Police seized marijuana for destruction.
