The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between Oct. 27 – Nov. 2, there were 768 dispatched calls, including 90 traffic incidents, 25 traffic accidents, two DUIs, 35 general traffic incidents, four incidents involving illegal drugs, 50 alarm calls, 12 abandoned vehicles, 12 burglaries, five incidents of fraud, 10 civil incidents, seven cases of harassment, 32 thefts, 18 vehicle prowls, four vehicle thefts, four warrants served, 18 noise complaints, three animal calls, 10 incidents of domestic violence, 12 disturbances, no reported sex offenses, six hit and runs and 22 incidents involving at least one arrest.
Oct. 27
Assault: 10:56 p.m., 13100 block of NE 132nd St.; A 16-year-old girl, which the police report lists as homeless, was arrested for assaulting a police officer.
Oct. 28
DUI: 2:22 a.m., 9800 block of Forbes Creek Drive; A 24-year-old Seattle man was arrested for DUI, driving with a suspended or revoked license and violation of a protection order after an officer noticed he had trouble staying in his lane. The man had a domestic violence protection order against him for a 27-year-old Seattle woman, who was sitting in the car. The woman was also arrested.
Drugs: 12:13 p.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; Two subjects, a 26-year-old Mukilteo man and a 26-year-old Lynnwood man, were contacted while sleeping in a vehicle. One was arrested and charged for possession of heroin, while the second was arrested on a King County Sheriff misdemeanor warrant.
Oct. 29
Trespass: 8 a.m., 12400 block of 105th Ave. NE; A 51-year-old Edmonds man was contacted twice in one evening for tresspassing and attempting to open car doors. On the second call, an officer noticed the man walking out from behind a house with the gate open behind him. The man was arested for second-degree Criminal Tresspass.
Drugs: 11:13 p.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; A 24-year-old man was arrested on a King County felony drug warrant at the Juanita Safeway. The man had heroin and meth in his possession at the time of his arrest, and also the credit card of a 42-year-old Kirkland man, which had been stolen during a vehicle prowl.
Oct. 30
Domestic: 1:30 a.m., 14300 block of 126th Ave. NE; A 32-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree assault and interfering with domestic violence reporting after grabbing his wife of seven years by the wrist and pulling her hair.
Domestic: 11:23 p.m., 9900 block of NE 126th St.; A 27-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after he punched and attempted to strangle his 25-year-old girlfriend during an argument. The man was booked into KPD jail.
Oct. 31
DUI: 9:30 p.m., 11500 block of NE 124th St.; A 70-year-old Woodinville man hit a parked vehicle belonging to an employee in the Wendy’s parking lot. The man tried to leave, but was stopped by witnesses and staff. When officers arrived, the man was found to be impared. He refused all field tests, and was arrested for DUI.
Nov. 1
Hit-and-run: 12:52 p.m., 11900 block of NE 132nd St.; A 64-year-old man was arrested for three counts of hit-and-run.
Warrants: 9:15 p.m., 300 block of Kirkland Ave.; A 35-year-old homeless man was arrested on his Redmond PD misdemeanor warrant.
Nov. 2
Warrants: 9:45 a.m., 12700 block of NE 124th St.; Police arrested a 37-year-old Redmond man on his $15,000 King County warrant for first-degree traffiking of stolen property.
DUI: 10:51 p.m., 100 block of 7th Ave; A 39-year-old Bothell woman was arrested for DUI after she collided with a parked vehicle. The woman performed poorly on field tests and provided a breath sample of .210. She was booked into Kirkland Jail because this is her second DUI.
Assault: 11:39 p.m., 200 block of 3rd St.; A 29-year-old Battle Ground man spit in the face of a bus driver and was arrested for fourth-degree assault.
