After a fast-paced two months, you’d think coffee is the last thing Kirkland City Councilwoman Amy Walen needs.

But she has scheduled three coffee shop visits in the next month to meet with constituents and take questions regarding Kirkland’s present and future.

The sit-downs will be a contrast of sorts to the legwork Walen has been doing the last two months. She met last week with GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving and others from the internet company that recently opened an office in Carillon Point.

A mid-March visit to the Youth Eastside Services breakfast followed on the heels of a trip to Washington, D.C., where she had meetings with staff at the Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency regarding Kirkland projects.

Then there was a KITH luncheon, an Earth Day work party at Juanita Bay, a Futurewise luncheon, a meeting with local faith leaders regarding a new initiative called “Life in the Gap,” and a Kirkland Chamber of Commerce open house, along with council and committee meetings.

Walen will talk about those or other topics at the following Kirkland locations:

• Saturday, May 4, 10-11 a.m., St. James Espresso, 355 Kirkland Ave. across from the Kirkland Performance Center

• Saturday, May 18, 10-11 a.m., Juanita Village Starbucks at 9721 N.E. 119th Way
