Meet Kirkland Councilwoman Shelley Kloba Sept. 14

The public is invited to an informal campaign event for Kirkland City Councilwoman Shelley Kloba from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at O.O. Denny Park, 12032 Holmes Point Drive NE in Kirkland.

The public is invited to an informal campaign event for Kirkland City Councilwoman Shelley Kloba from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14  at O.O. Denny Park, 12032 Holmes Point Drive NE in Kirkland.

Kloba will be on the November general election ballot. She was appointed to the Kirkland City Council in April and she is seeking to retain her seat on the Council for the final two years of the unexpired term.

Attendees are welcome to drop by for a snack and have an opportunity to talk with Kloba in an informal setting at the park.

Kloba cares about big issues that face citizens today: education, health care, jobs and affordable housing. She will focus on a responsible and responsive budget, smart growth and a transportation system that keeps everyone moving.

She is a longtime advocate for education and healthcare. She is a PTA leader, trustee on the Lake Washington Schools Foundation, former Park Board member, EvergreenHealth community advisor and massage therapist. A mother and wife, she has been a Juanita resident since 2001.

She enjoys snowboarding, bicycling and grassroots political organizing.
