A Woodinville man who went missing in Kirkland on Saturday afternoon was located by a Seattle resident in the vicinity of the 500 block of N.E. 8th Street in Seattle early Sunday morning.

The man was supposed to be at the Life Care Center of Kirkland between 1:30-3:30 p.m. and apparently walked away from the facility.

The Seattle resident, who saw a news broadcast regarding the missing man, John “Jack” L. Miller, 73, took him into his home and contacted Seattle Police at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.

A Kirkland police officer responded to the location where Miller’s identity was confirmed. He reportedly had made it to Seattle by a combination of walking and riding the bus.

Although somewhat disoriented and confused, he appeared to be unharmed. He was transported to the hospital by private ambulance for evaluation and to be reunited with his family.

King County Police Search and Rescue assisted Kirkland Officer’s in the search, providing more than 50 volunteers, several search dogs and volunteers on horseback, searching the Juanita and Totem Lake area for several hours until the word was received that Miller had been located.
