N.E. 124th Street road work to delay traffic

The City of Kirkland’s Road Overlay Project will repave N.E. 124th Street (in Juanita) from 100th Avenue N.E. to 107th Place N.E. on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 17-18 creating delays on one of the main route to 405. Traffic delays are expected from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as crews narrow the corridor down to one lane.

“The overlay program is preventative maintenance,” said Kari Page, the neighborhood Programs Coordinator for the City of Kirkland. “It not only prolongs the life of a street but saves money by improving the street before it reaches the final state of its life when rapid deterioration occurs .. Preventative maintenance saves the taxpayers money.”
