A minivan with two moms and four kids was rear ended by a white Dodge pickup truck driven by Geoffrey T. Goddard, 25, of Kirkland going an estimated 100 miles per hour Wednesday evening.
Goddard was transported to the Evergreen Hospital emergency room for minor injuries. The man then tried to flee the hospital without his clothes before being apprehended in the parking lot by police.
It was the second time Goddard tried to get away.
Troopers said the man attempted to flee the scene of the accident but was eventually apprehended. He now faces multiple counts of vehicular assault, with Troopers saying alcohol was a factor.
The crash on I-405 took place at about 6:20 p.m. and sent the minivan across all lanes of traffic in the southbound direction. The van hit a dirt median at 195th Street and flipped over.
Everyone in the van was transported to the hospital, with two of the children suffering broken bones. There were no life-threatening injuries.
The incident shut down the off ramp to 195th Street and one lane for several hours.
