The City of Kirkland’s Information Technology Department will be replacing its network infrastructure, reconfiguring security settings, and upgrading its wireless system beginning Saturday, March 23.
Much of the work is scheduled for weekend and after hours and is anticipated to cause intermittent disruptions to city websites and the city phone system. Emergency 9-1-1 dispatch services will not be affected.
The city’s government (www.kirklandwa.gov) and tourism (www.explorekirkland.com) websites and phone system will experience brief and rolling outages between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 23; from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 29; and after 5 p.m. on Friday, April 6.
From Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 19, equipment that provides wireless connections in downtown and at Marina and Peter Kirk parks, will be replaced and upgraded. Wireless customers may experience disruptions and should disconnect and reconnect. The upgrade will result in better performance of the wireless system.
