On March 3 Denver-based MorningStar Senior Living held a grand opening of a new residential site, MorningStar Kirkland, located at 11729 NE 118th Street. The new MorningStar location has 152 apartments for individuals ages 55 and up in the Totem Lake area.
“With our experience in operating in 30 cities across 11 states, we are pleased to open our second retirement community in Washington,” said Ken Jaeger, Founder and CEO of MorningStar. “Our goal is to elevate senior living by offering a community that promotes a healthy, engaged lifestyle and a true sense of family. We want residents to thrive and are invested in creating connections and intentional relationships with each senior. Our service is marked with warmth, sincerity and depth, and that sets us apart.”
The five story, 113,591-square-foot community that sits on 3.78 acres of land offers studios and one- and two-bedroom suites. To encourage outdoor recreation, MorningStar Kirkland offers residents a bocce ball court, a fire pit, and a Zen Garden.
Additional amenities include covered parking spaces; a salon; a fitness center; a therapy gym with onsite therapists; and all-day restaurant style dining.
Health standards were integrated into the new location, which features sanitation stations, touchless faucets and light switches in common areas, and anti-microbial countertop surfaces, among others.
