Kirkland’s Parklane Gallery is holding its 17th Annual Juried International Miniature Art Show through the end of the month. With over 300 works of art on display, this isn’t your ordinary art show and these are not just small paintings. Miniature painters comply with a strict standard of rules that apply to balance of scale, technique and level of detail as well as to size. A work of fine art in miniature draws the viewer into further exploration of the painting’s detail in rendering. In fact, magnifying glasses are provided and closer looks are encouraged. Nationally recognized artist and Kirkland resident, Elizabeth Kincaid, is the juror for this year’s show and will make her selection from the more than 400 entries.
