NORCOM, the 911 dispatch service for the Eastside, will be conducting a training exercise from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today over its radio communication only.
The exercise will be a simulation of an active gunman at Lake Washington High School in Kirkland.
“This training exercise will occur over the radio only,” said NORCOM spokesperson Roky Louie. “There will be no personnel on scene at Lake Washington High School in Kirkland where this fictional event is occurring. The simulated training event will include sound effects broadcasted in the background during radio communications including engines revving, sirens, gunfire, people screaming and shouting, etc.“
