Thomas Joseph Leahy, a 41-year resident of Kirkland died July 14 in Bellevue. He was 75.
Leahy was born April 13, 1934 in Portland, Ore. to Thomas and Mary Leahy. He attended Holy Redeemer Grade School and Central Catholic High School and later graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon.
He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and received his honorable discharge November 1954. He married Patricia Riordan in Portland, in 1956. In 1968, he moved his family to the Puget Sound area and served as regional manager for Sears and Roebuck Company until his retirement.
Leahy loved to travel, especially to exotic destinations in Asia. He also enjoyed reading, fishing, playing cards and meeting for coffee with “The Guys.” His family and friends fondly remember his great sense of humor. When asked, he would proudly declare that his greatest accomplishment was his family.
Leahy is survived by his wife of 52 years Patricia A. Leahy of Kirkland; daughter, Kathleen Leahy of Whitefish, Mont. and partner John Kehoe, daughter Kim Leahy Padawer of Redmond and husband Andy, daughter Pamela Leahy Bostrom of Carnation and husband Steve; and son Vince Leahy of Nooksack, Wash. and wife Cindy. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Rachel Nakanishi, Danny, David and Stephanie Padawer, Owen Bostrom and Sarah Leahy.
