Kirkland’s Design Review Board (DRB) gave its final approval for the Parkplace project on Monday.

Developers Touchstone Corp. plan to redevelop Parkplace Center with a mixed-use project that includes seven buildings up to eight stories high; and approximately 1.8 million square feet of office, retail, hotel, sports club and supermarket.

The project, located at 457 Central Way, will also include public open space and parking in a below-grade parking garage.

The City of Kirkland’s Planning Director will review the project to determine whether it meets the State Environmental Policy Act criteria.

Touchstone, or those who previously submitted testimony or comments to the DRB, are entitled to appeal the DRB’s decision. The appeal must be in the form of a letter of appeal and must be delivered to the Planning Department by 5 p.m. Dec. 29. For information about how to appeal, contact the Planning Department at 425-587-3225.
