Between Wednesday, June 18, and Tuesday, June 24, the Kirkland Police Department reported 331 traffic violations, 21 car accidents, 21 alarm calls, 17 thefts, 17 assaults (11 domestic violence), 13 acts of vandalism, 13 vehicle prowls, 12 disturbances and 10 DUIs. At least 83 people were arrested.
Wednesday, June 18
7:39 p.m. Three intoxicated juvenile males threatened a man with a hatchet he was using for firewood at Juanita Beach. The assailants fled after they realized the police were en-route.
Friday, June 20
5:38 p.m. Employees of a bar tried to stop an intoxicated man from re-entering the business on the 300 block of Kirkland Avenue. He was later seen running in and out of vehicle traffic and arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
8:48 p.m. A resident of the 10700 block of 121st Pl. N.E. reported graffiti vandalism to a backyard fence. Police are investigating a vehicle associated with the crime.
Tuesday, June 24
7:04 p.m. A shoplifter was stopped by security at a business on the 12000 block of 120th Ave. N.E. for taking a pen and a lighter.
