Roundup: The Kirkland Police Department reported 289 traffic violations, 22 thefts, 20 assaults (12 domestic violence), 16 noise complaints, 16 alarm calls, 14 car accidents, 13 disturbances and 12 acts of fraud. At least 48 people were arrested.
Wednesday, July 30
Van fire: 7:51 a.m. A Plymouth Voyager van reportedly caught fire near the intersection of N.E. 87th St. and 116th Ave. Northeast. Fire and police units responded to safely put the fire out.
Harassment: 8:30 p.m. A 23-year-old female resident of the 13000 block of 96th Pl. N.E. alleged harassing text messages had been sent to her by another woman.
Thursday, July 31
Juvenile arrest: 1:37 a.m. Locating an abandoned Toyota Corolla, which collided with a stop sign at the intersection of 124th St. and 105th Pl. N.E., police arrested a 16-year-old resident for hit and run driving, alcohol and moving violations.
Friday, August 1
Shoplifting: 6:30 p.m. Police arrested a 29-year-old Kenmore man for shoplifting from a business on the 12200 block of 120th Ave. Northeast.
Sunday, August 3
Luring: 9:15 p.m. An older man on the 200 block of 3rd St. approached two 13-year-old girls and allegedly tried to lure them into helping him change a tire. When they refused he left without incident.
Monday, August 4
DUI: 2:04 a.m. A 24-year-old Snohomish man was arrested on the 11600 block of N.E. 85th St. for DUI and driving on a suspended license.
Assault: 1:49 p.m. A female coworker allegedly punched a man in the face and damaged his phone at a business on the 9700 block of N.E. Juanita Drive.
Tree cutting: 5:55 p.m. A resident of the 11400 block of 104th St. alleged that a neighbor was illegally cutting down trees on his property. Police later arrived and reviewed a building permit which the suspect claimed gave him permission to do so.
