Police Blotter (May 7-21) Kirkland Police Department

Between Wednesday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 13 the Kirkland Police Department reported 268 traffic violations, 20 vehicle prowls, 20 thefts, 18 alarm calls, 12 car accidents, 12 assaults (6 domestic violence), 10 noise complaints and 7 DUIs. At least 39 people were arrested.

Wednesday, May 7

7:30 p.m.: A 40-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for trespassing on Kirkland Performing Arts Center property. Police located the suspect after a witness reportedly saw the man sleeping in the bushes there. He was transported to the King County Jail.

Friday, May 9

8:26 p.m.: Security guards at a business on the 200 block of Parkplace Center stopped a 21-year-old resident allegedly shoplifting two cases of beer. He was arrested and booked into the city jail.

9:00 p.m.: A 2001 Ford Econoline van was stolen from the 9800 block of N.E. 124th St. Police later recovered the van and returned it to the owner.

Saturday, May 10

3:12 p.m.: Two male juveniles took food donations from a collection on the 13000 block of N.E. 95th St. The two youths were last seen headed eastbound along 95th St.

5:16 p.m.: A male customer at a business on the 11200 block of N.E. 124th Street allegedly exposed himself to a female employee while he urinated into a sink. He reportedly left without further incident before police arrived.

10:50 p.m.: A resident on the 10200 block of 124th Avenue N.E. allegedly heard gunshots and later found shell casings in the street.

Sunday, May 11

6:00 a.m.: A car fire on the 9900 block of N.E. 128th Street was ruled an arson after police discovered the vehicle matched the description of a vehicle stolen the day before.
