Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland had 12 students in the graduating class of 2016.
Four Lynnwood residents, Evan Hansen, Robby Jorgensen, Nate Smidt, and Judah Wessel, graduated from Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland with honors. Hansen has been accepted at the University of Washington and hopes to major in aeronautical engineering. Evan’s parents are Gerrit and Julie Hansen.
Jorgensen has been accepted at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. He was part of the Vanguard Choir at Providence and is the son of Brennen and Lydia Jorgensen.
Smidt has been accepted at Western Washington University and will be majoring in Political Science. He is the son of Phil and Jennifer Smidt.
Wessel has been accepted at Northwest College. He also was part of the Vanguard Choir at Providence. He is the son of Daniel and Martha Wessel.
Two Snohomish residents, Hailey Ferguson and Matthew Litalien, graduated from Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland. Ferguson is the daughter of Snohomish natives John and Maddy Ferguson. With her experiences as Yearbook editor and student body President, she looks forward to other leadership opportunities that will present themselves in this next phase of life. She has been accepted to Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado, where she is planning on majoring in Business Administration. She graduated with honors at Providence. After six years of Providence volleyball, Hailey looks forward also to playing college ball at her university. She was in the Vanguard Choir at Providence.
Litalien, son of Michael and Cyndi, has attended Providence since Kindergarten. He has played sports for as long as he could remember, and plans to try and play some sports at Big Bend Community College, where he plans to move closer to earning his commercial pilot’s license. When he was 16, he soloed with the Civil Air Patrol and since then he has been so excited to go to school and fly.
Three Woodinville residents, Katie Adair, Michael Walsh, and Dan Jekel, graduated from Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland. Adair, who graduated with honors, participated in the Vanguard and has played volleyball since eight grade. She is excited to continue playing at Cedarville University in Ohio where she is planning on majoring in Nursing.
Walsh is the son of Woodinville natives Michael and Jill Walsh. He has been accepted to Washington State University where he is planning on majoring in Business.
Jekel graduated as Valedictorian of his class and is a National Merit Scholar Finalist. He participated in the Vanguard Choir and on the Speech and Debate Team all four years; he will be going to the National Tournament for Public Forum Debate this June in Salt Lake City. He also participated in the annual drama production and served on the House Council during his junior and senior years. He looks forward to continuing his studies at Whitworth University where he received a Mind and Heart Scholarship and a Vocal Scholarship. He is the son of Ross Jekel and Alicia Jekel.
Two Bothell residents, Katarina Kowalick and Kyle Johnson, graduated from Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland with honors. Kowalick is the daughter of David and Noelle Kowalick of Bothell. With her involvement in the student body as the Director of Student Ministries and a member of the House Council, she hopes to find new ways to be involved in what will be her new community. Katarina was also involved in the Vanguard Choir and Drama at Providence. She will be attending New Saint Andrews College in Moscow Idaho, where she plans to acquire a Liberal Arts Degree and further her skills as a writer, in the hopes of ultimately becoming a professional novelist and illustrator.
Johnson has been accepted to Western Washington University where he is planning on majoring in theater. He has been involved in Drama all four years at Providence as well at the Vanguard Choir. Kyle is the son of Ron and Sheri Johnson.
Kirkland resident, Wesley Su, graduated from Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland as a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program. He participated in sports all four years of his high school experience and was a captain of the soccer team in two. He also was on the Debate Team all four years and will be competing at the National Tournament this June in Salt Lake City. He was involved in the Vanguard Choir and Drama. He has been accepted to the University of Richmond in Virginia where he is planning on majoring in computer science.
