Most years, “kitten season” ends in October. This year, area cats got an early start and appear to have made time for an extra litter. As a result, the kitten season has extended into the holiday season and area shelters still have plenty of kittens available for adoption.

Purrfect Pals, a no-kill cat shelter and sanctuary, has many adorable and well-socialized kittens available in their off-site adoption center inside the Kirkland PETCO store (12040 N.E. 85th Street, near Costco).

These kittens all have different stories. Some were rescued from overcrowded public shelters where they would have been euthanized. Others were found living under bushes or in sheds when they were only a few weeks old and needed to be bottle-fed. After arriving at Purrfect Pals, they lived in loving foster homes until they were old enough to be spayed or neutered. They have also been vaccinated, tested for viral diseases, treated for worms and fleas and microchipped.

Purrfect Pals still has many litters in foster care and expects to have a great selection of adoptable kittens available in Kirkland through January. Year round, they also have an assortment of loving, adult cats waiting for forever homes.
