Redmond police Pro-Act Unit nabs major Eastside drug dealer in Kirkland

After what the Redmond Police Department (RPD) noted as a lengthy investigation, the RPD Pro-Act Unit arrested a 39-year-old Kirkland man who police said was known to sell large quantities of methamphetamine and heroin on the Eastside.

Redmond officers took the suspect into custody at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at a fast-food restaurant in the 12500 block of 116th Avenue in Kirkland, according to RPD public information officer Andrea Wolf-Buck. Kirkland police assisted during the incident by working the perimeter of the scene. Six vehicles, including patrol cars and undercover cars, were on the scene.

“There were no problems when he was taken into custody,” said Wolf-Buck, adding that the suspect has not yet been charged.

Police searched the suspect’s residence on First Street in Kirkland and located 400 grams — nearly a pound — of meth, almost 20 grams of brown heroin and cash. The suspect possessed a little more than $2,700 in his pockets, and police also found a loaded handgun in his vehicle. Police had search warrants for the home and vehicle, Wolf-Buck noted.

The suspect has also been convicted in California for burglary and manufacturing and distributing meth, according to a press release.
