Two local businesses will vie for the top spot in the final round of Hopelink Can Madness this week. Defending champion Hancock’s Bakery of Redmond will face a surging team from Kirkland in Hallmark Realty, with the winner to be named Friday.

Last week, the four final teams combined brought the total raised for Hopelink food banks so far to 30,077 pounds of food and $24,307.

In round four, Hancock’s Bakery defeated Xtreme Consulting Group, Inc. of Kirkland, and Hallmark Realty knocked off City of Redmond, setting up a final between the two cities.

The drive is patterned after the national spring college basketball tournament, matching businesses in weekly competitions to see which can bring in the most food. Teams were bracketed together in pairs and one winner from each two-member bracket advanced to the following week.
