The King County Office of Emergency Management is collecting information from county residents and businesses on damage and losses suffered during the January 16-23 snow and ice storm.

If your King County home or business sustained damage as a result of the storm, you may be eligible for federal disaster assistance as you begin to clean up.

Residents and businesses that have incurred property damages due to the recent snow-ice-wind storm are able to file damage reports for uninsured losses – either online or over the phone.

Initially, this reporting process will be available only in English, but the office is working on translation accommodations to extend damage reporting to our non-English speaking communities.

Storm debris disposal resources

Residents and businesses are encouraged to recycle construction, demolition and land clearing debris.

King County’s Solid Waste Division provides an easy way to find debris disposal services in your area. Visit www.kingcounty.gov/solidwaste. In the box at the top marked “Wood Debris” you can search for options based on the hauler in your area to determine maximum amounts of yard waste that can be set out at the curb. The box features other links to each city’s relevant disposal resources.
