Kirkland Kiwanis recently recognized Noel Schoneman as an Everyday Hero.

A program coordinator for Kirkland’s Public Works Department, Schoneman and wife, Carol, helped Kirkland resident and senior citizen Joell Burville remove a 100 foot tree from her yard. Schoneman said he came to Burville’s aid after the city had sent a letter to her informing her the tree must be removed. Schoneman came to her house and saw she couldn’t remove it alone.

“I’m so grateful these people helped me on their own time,” Burville said.
