Two masked suspects, armed with semi-automatic handguns, robbed the Higher Leaf marijuana retail store in the 12500 of Willows Road in Kirkland at about 10:30 p.m. Monday night.

According to Lt. Rob Saloum with the Kirkland Police Department, the suspects, dressed in dark clothing, took cash and marijuana as employees and customers hid in a back room of the store.

As the suspects fled the store, a new customer arrived at the pot shop and investigated the scene. Saloum said one of the suspects shot once in the direction of the customer. The customer was uninjured and hid in the store as the suspects fled the scene.

Police pursued with K9 units and believe the suspects fled to a vehicle before getting away.
