The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. Between March 20-25, the Kirkland Police Department reported 517 traffic violations (six DUIs), 29 alarm calls, 18 car accidents, 13 noise complaints, 13 thefts, seven car prowls, 11 domestic violence calls, five calls for harassment, 11 acts of fraud, six calls of a disturbance, five calls for illegal substances and three calls of civil disturbance. At least 33 people were arrested.

March 25

Domestic: 7 p.m., 11200 block of N.E. 132nd St. A third party called 911 on a possible domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, officers found a 29-year-old Kirkland man and a 23-year-old Kirkland female to have been in a domestic dispute. The couple has a long history of domestic violence. There were several physical encounters on March 25, including wrestling, headlocks, scratching and being shoved to the ground that were committed by the man who was arrested.

Disorderly conduct: 9:10 p.m., 11300 block of N.E. 124th St. A 21-year-old Redmond man was intoxicated and acting disorderly at Olive Garden. The man was taken into custody after refusing to follow directions and resisting police as they removed him from the business.

Park violation: 1:28 a.m., 633 Waverly Way. A 31-year-old Monroe female and a 27-year-old Kirkland man were contacted about being in the park after hours and drinking. Both people were cited for public intoxication and the man was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

March 24

Sex offense: 3:59 p.m., 11700 block of N.E. 100th St. Reporting party called 911 to notify police of a male and female having sex in a van with the back doors wide open in the parking lot of Spinney Homestead Park. The caller said the couple were partially clothed and the van was located in the middle of the parking lot. The caller and the suspects were gone by the time police arrived on the scene.

March 23

Domestic: 12 noon, 12000 block of 89th Place N.E. Police responded to a domestic dispute call and contacted a 31-year-old female. The woman told them she and another person were arguing about her returning to the residence after being asked to leave rehab. The woman was arrested on a warrant.

March 22

Illegal substance: 10:33 p.m., 12900 block of 116th Way N.E. Four Kirkland teenagers were contacted at a Kirkland park and ride. One was arrested for possession of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia.

March 20

Order violation: 11:44 a.m., 11600 block of 124th St. An 18-year-old Everett man was observed with his brother, who has a no-contact order with the man. The man was arrested on the no-contact order and his brother was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
