Drivers who wish to reach the Eastside early Sunday morning via State Route 520 should prepare for a closure of the highway’s eastbound lanes across Lake Washington. Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will use the closure to pave and restripe lanes to create a safe area for continuing their work on the Eastside Transit and HOV Project.

Weekend work closes Bellevue Way over SR 520 and highway ramps

Construction crews working on SR 520’s Eastside project will close Bellevue Way between 103rd Avenue Northeast and Northup Way, where the road crosses SR 520, from 11 p.m. Friday, April 25 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 28. The closure includes both the westbound on-ramp to SR 520 and the eastbound off-ramp to Bellevue Way. During the closure, crews will shift lanes onto a new overpass structure. A signed detour will direct drivers around the work zone.

WSDOT posts online information about construction closures and nighttime work on the SR 520 Orange Page, the interactive construction and driver planning tool for the SR 520 program. WSDOT’s SR 520 website also provides information on the SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program.
