Take back prescription drug day on Saturday in Kirkland

The Kirkland Police Department is partnering with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration as part of a nationwide prescription drug “Take-Back” initiative this weekend.

The Kirkland Police Department is partnering with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration as part of a nationwide prescription drug “Take-Back” initiative this weekend.

The agencies are asking everyone to bring in their expired, unused, and unwanted medications, including prescription drugs.

Kirkland residents can bring controlled, non-controlled, and over-the-counter medications to the Kirkland Police Department lobby at the south entrance of City Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. City Hall is located at 123 5th Ave.

Due to the hazardous nature of some items, the following will not be accepted: intra-venous solutions, injectables, syringes, or medical waste.

The service is free and anonymous.
