Along with the update of the Comprehensive Plan, the city is updating the long-range plan for the Totem Lake Business District.
The city’s Planning Commission has been studying a variety of issues, including the District’s light industrial areas, possible changes to the Urban Center boundaries, transportation, opportunities for housing and mixed use development and other topics.
The plan update also includes the consideration of five Citizen Amendment Requests for policy or zoning changes for property within the district.
An Open House on the draft proposed amendments to the Totem Lake Plan, draft Zoning Code and Zoning Map changes, and the Citizen Amendment Requests will be held on Aug. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. A community meeting to obtain information about a future Environmental Impact Statement Planned Action Ordinance for Totem Lake will also take place from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Planning Commission Public Hearing will follow at 7 p.m. All meetings will take place at Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue. View the Notice of hearings, open house, and community meeting for the draft Totem Lake Plan (PDF).
