Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the Kirkland Summerfest event which will be held in downtown Kirkland, August 11-13.

Road closures and detours will be in place throughout the weekend. The City’s boat launch will remain open, however boaters should expect delays.

Event goers are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool, and plan for their parking in advance. For public parking, including the Kirkland Municipal Garage, go to www.kirklandwa.gov/parking. For bus transportation, go to http://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov. For event information, go to www.explorekirkland.com.

The following roads will be closed on Friday at 5:00 a.m. through Saturday at midnight:

· Lakeshore Plaza Lot

· Lakeshore Plaza

· Kirkland Avenue from the City Dock to Lake Street

· Park Lane from Lake Street to Main Street

On Saturday, these additional closures will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to midnight:

· Lake Street from Central Way to Kirkland Avenue

· Main Street from Central Way to Kirkland Avenue

· Park Lane from Main Street to 3rd Street

· Lake and Central parking lot

On Sunday, Park Lane from Lake Street to Main Street will remain closed until midnight.
