A traffic collision between a passenger vehicle and two motorcycles occurred Thursday evening resulting in the death of one of the motorcycle operators at the scene. The collision took place at about 6:35 p.m. in the Juanita neighborhood at the intersection of 100th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 117th Court with police and medical units responding. The driver of the passenger vehicle allegedly was attempting to turn left and struck the on-coming motorcycles.

“There doesn’t appear to be any intoxicants involved with this but we will look at all the normal things,” said Kirkland Police Department Sgt. Rob Saloum. “We have witnesses.”

The driver of the passenger vehicle was not seriously injured while the second motorcycle driver was transported to Harborview Hospital with unknown injuries. The Kirkland Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is conducting an ongoing investigation.
