Volunteers will weed out invasive blackberry sprouts to keep the area filled with native plants.

The volunteer event runs from 12-4 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Crestwoods Park, 1900 16th St., Kirkland.

The group will meet at the north end of the park at the top of the stairs at Sixth Street.

Volunteers should dress for the weather (layers are encouraged), wear close-toed shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a filled water bottle and snacks to munch on. Tools and training will be provided.

Volunteers age 14-17 attending the event without a parent or guardian must bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to the event with them.
