Wilson receives college grant

Claire Wilson is the recipient of a $1,000 Education Exchange 2009 College Grant. Wilson is a graduate of Lake Washington High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government, Model United Nations, Girl Scouts, Environmental Club, and the Drill/Dance team. She recently received the USA President’s Volunteer Service Award and the Good Citizen Scholarship from the Daughters of the American Revolution. Wilson will be attending Scripps College in California where she plans to study political science.

The Education Exchange College Grant program is sponsored annually by the ACCEL/Exchange® EFT Network, an electronic funds transfer network owned and operated by Fiserv, Inc. Through the program, 34 outgoing high school seniors from across the country are selected to share a total of $50,000 in college grants. From an initial pool of thousands of applicants, grants of $1000 and $5000 are offered to students based upon scholastic achievement, community involvement, qualities of character and leadership, an essay and financial need.

“We are delighted for Claire Wilson and pleased that she was selected,” commented Bob Schumacher, CEO and President of MountainCrest Credit Union. “We enjoy sponsoring the Fiserv ACCEL/Exchange grant program and we encourage members and the surrounding community to check back with us each January until about mid March for its availability.”
