The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between Oct. 4-10, the Kirkland Police Department reported 393 traffic violations (six DUIs), 17 school zone traffic violations, two animal calls, 31 alarm calls, 14 noise complaints, two juvenile crime, 10 calls of disturbance, 10 thefts, 11 car prowls, five car thefts, 24 traffic accidents, 16 calls of civil disturbance, nine reported burglaries, eight domestic violence calls, four calls for harassment, three reports of illegal drugs, one alleged assault, six acts of fraud, five malicious mischief reports, one sex offense and two suicides. At least 29 people were arrested.
Oct. 10
Minor in possession: 12:05 a.m., 9700 block of NE 120th Place. An 18-year-old woman was arrested for consuming alcohol as a minor at Juanita Pub. She was able to use her half-sister’s ID before staff figured out she was underage. The woman blew a .234 preliminary breath test.
Domestic violence: 2:34 p.m., 14100 block of 73rd Place NE. A 23-year-old man was arrested after getting into a physical altercation with his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend.
Warrant: 8:16 p.m., 12400 block of 103rd Ave. NE. A 28-year-old man was taken into custody on a felony, Department of Corrections escape warrant. Police discovered he had drugs on him when he was booked into Kirkland jail.
Oct. 9
Domestic violence: 2:24 a.m., 7300 block of NE 141st Place. A 25-year-old man was arrested for being the primary aggressor in a fight between him and his 19-year-old girlfriend. The man initially called police to report his girlfriend had hit him.
Oct. 6
Theft: 3:56 p.m., 232 Central Way. A 54-year-old woman was arrested at Wing Dome after she ate $9.98 worth of food and left without paying.
Traffic offense: 7:25 p.m., 7300 block of 132nd Ave. NE. A 32-year-old man was taken into custody after he was stopped in his 1996 Pontiac for driving without a front license plate. Police discovered he was driving on a suspended driver’s license, which was his seventh time he has been stopped for the offense.
Warrant: 9:01 p.m., 12900 block of 127th Drive NE. A 62-year-old man was arrested on a DUI warrant after police arrived at his residence for a disturbance between him and his fiancé. The man also blew a .348 preliminary breath test and was transported to EvergreenHealth Medical Center.
Oct. 5
Trespass: 10:57 a.m., 100 block of Park Lane. A 54-year-old woman was arrested for trespassing Ragamoffyn’s.
Oct. 4
Trespass: 10:16 a.m., 12600 block of NE 124th St. A 24-year-old man was arrested for criminal trespass after returning to an apartment at Francis Village apartments he was evicted from on Oct. 1.
