The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between Oct. 3-9, there were 433 traffic incidents, 24 traffic accidents, eight DUIs, 40 general traffic incidents, 33 alarm calls, seven abandoned vehicles, eight burglaries, 10 incidents of fraud, 10 civil incidents, 10 cases of harassment, 25 thefts, 25 vehicle prowls, one vehicle thefts, 13 warrants served, 19 noise complaints, six animal calls, nine incidents of domestic violence, 10 incidents of malicious mischief, 11 disturbances, two sex offense, six assaults and 37 incidents involving at least one arrest.
Oct. 7
Protection order: 5:29 p.m., 14400 block of 86th Pl NE. A 22-year-old man was arrested for violating a no-contact order with a 21-year-old woman.
Theft: 1:56 p.m., 14200 block of 199th Ave NE. A 29-year-old woman was arrested for prowling at least three cars. Among the items taken in as evidence were four Halloween costumes, a pair of brown boots and a multicolored glass pipe.
Assault: 3:15 p.m., 1000 block of NE 64th St. A 36-year-old man was arrested after slapping his wife in the face.
Assault: 10:25 p.m., 12600 block of Ne 132nd St. A 21-year-old man was arrested after he punched and kicked his 26-year-old girlfriend during an argument over whether or not she had been cheating on him. He fled the scene on foot and was arrested later that day.
Oct. 6
Assault: 5:31 p.m., 10700 block of NE 37th Ct. A 48-year-old man was arrested after he got drunk and assaulted his 50-year-old girlfriend by throwing her on the ground and punching her in the stomach.
Oct. 4
Protection order: 12 p.m., 8700 block of 126th Ave NE. A 48-year-old man was arrested for violating a protection order after his 48-year-old ex-girlfriend reported several thefts on her property to the police, also telling them he had written her a three page love letter in violation of the protection order.
Oct. 3
Assault: 2:15 p.m., 7300 block of NE 141st Pl. A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he punched his 45-year-old mother. The boy has autism and has a history of becoming violent when he does not get his way. He was booked into the King County Youth Center.
