The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between October 7-11, the Kirkland Police Department reported 306 traffic violations (three DUIs), 18 alarm calls, nine car accidents, eight noise complaints, 12 thefts, seven car prowls, eight domestic violence calls, five calls for harassment, four acts of fraud, 12 calls of a disturbance and 12 calls of civil disturbance. At least 23 people were arrested.
Oct. 11
DUI: 1:54 a.m., 6700 108th Ave. N.E. A 32-year-old Kirkland man was stopped for traffic violations. The man was found to have a blood alcohol level of .031 but had admitted to taking an illegal substance.
Oct. 10
Illegal substance: 10 a.m., 12000 block of N.E. 80th St. A Lake Washington High School student was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia at school.
Malicious mischief: 1:30 p.m., 100 block of 13th Ave. A 39-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for intentionally damaging the victim’s vehicle.
Assault: 12:20 a.m., 12500 block of N.E. 130th Way. A 22-year-old Kirkland man assaulted his live-in girlfriend and broke the girlfriend’s mother’s front door.
Oct. 9
Domestic: 2 p.m., 9900 block of N.E. 124th St. A 19-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested for assaulting her father.
Oct. 8
Burglary: 7:19 p.m., 11800 block of Slater Ave. N.E. A man reported that someone broke into the back room of a local business by prying open the hinge on a window. The motion sensor and audible alarm activated and the suspect left the premises.
Oct. 7
Fugitive from justice: 9:09 p.m., 10700 block of 128th Ave. N.E. A 30-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested on a felony warrant out of Florida for possession of cocaine.
DUI: 2:42 p.m., 11800 block of 97th Lane N.E. A 37-year-old Kirkland man was contacted at the Chelsea apartments as an unwanted person. The man showed “significant” signs of impairment and agreed to a field sobriety test. The man provided a .000 blood alcohol level but was taken in for and agreed to a blood test.
