The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.
Between Feb. 2-8, there were 860 total incidents, including 146 traffic incidents, 29 traffic accidents, six DUIs, 33 general traffic incidents, five incidents involving illegal drugs, 31 alarm calls, nine abandoned vehicles, seven burglaries, nine incidents of fraud, 19 civil incidents, three cases of harassment, 10 thefts, 11 vehicle prowls, two vehicle thefts, 10 warrants served, nine noise complaints, seven animal calls, 12 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, nine disturbances, no sex offenses, three hit and runs and 24 incidents involving at least one arrest.
Feb. 2
Warrants: 7:12 p.m., 14100 block of 83rd Place NE; A 27-year-old man was arrested on a pair of outstanding warrants, including a warrant for driving with a suspended license.
Feb. 3
Warrants: 9:10 a.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St.; A 32-year-old man was arrested on his King County Sheriff warrant.
Theft: 2:39 p.m., 9800 block of NE 132nd St.; Store security caught a 73-year-old man attempting to steal several items, including a flashlight, charger cord, wrench, lamp, and battery chargers, from Goodwill. The man was arrested for 3rd-degree theft.
Domestic: 9:52 p.m., location not disclosed; A 36-year-old Shelton woman was arrested following a domestic incident involving a 36-year-old man. The woman smashed a plate, broke a marble table top, smashed an iPhone screen and broke a watch. The woman was arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault and 3rd-degree domestic violence malicious mischief.
Feb. 4
DUI: 1:55 a.m., 9300 block of NE 124th St.; A 23-year-old Bothell man drove through traffic cones in his 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer and was stopped by law enforcement. The man provided breath samples of .183 and .185, and was arrested for DUI.
Drugs: 10:38 p.m., 14400 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 16-year-old boy, noted as homeless in the police report, was arrested on drug charges after law enforcement observed him jaywalking. The boy was arrested on a King County Juvenile Court warrant, and for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. The boy was carrying more than half a gram of heroin and a knife upon his arrest, among other items.
Feb. 5
DUI: 12:10 a.m., Totem Lake Boulevard and NE 132nd St.; A 39-year-old man was involved in a collision. The man performed poorly on field tests and provided two breath samples of .131, and was arrested for DUI.
Domestic: 11:42 p.m., 13900 block of 102nd Ave.; A 52-year-old woman, who was extremely intoxicated, got into an argument with her 52-year-old husband over marital relations. The woman slapped her husband several times and spit on him. She was arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault.
Feb. 6
Theft: 11:50 a.m., 9800 block of NE 132nd St.; Goodwill Loss Prevention reported that a 58-year-old woman had stolen property from the store, including DVDs and and clothing. The woman returned the items to the store following her arrest, and was cited for 3rd-degree theft.
Feb. 7
DUI: 9:49 p.m., 12600 block of 132nd Ave. NE; Law enforcement observed a 43-year-old Woodinville man traveling 47 miles per hour in a 25 mile-per-hour zone. After the man was stopped, he showed signs of impairment and failed field tests. The man was arrested for DUI.
Feb. 8
Warrants: 5:20 a.m., 12500 block of NE 116th St.; A 28-year-old man was arrested on his Kirkland misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended or revoked license.
