The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between March 10-16, there were 365 traffic incidents, 31 traffic accidents, four DUIs, 36 general traffic incidents, 49 alarm calls, two abandoned vehicles, eight burglaries, 10 incidents of fraud, six civil incidents, 10 incidents of fraud, seven cases of harassment, 11 thefts, 27 vehicle prowls, three vehicle thefts, four warrants served, nine noise complaints, four animal calls, 11 incidents of domestic violence, nine disturbances and one sex offense.
March 16
DUI: 12:15 a.m., 12600 block of NE 124th St. A 22-year-old Kirkland man was stopped in traffic. The man showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking alcohol before driving. The man performed poorly on voluntary SFSTs and gave a voluntary PBT of .105. His blood alcohol levels were .083 and .085. The vehicle was impounded.
March 15
Traffic offense: midnight, 12200 block of NE 120th Ave. A 40-year-old male was stopped in traffic. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license, and also had a warrant for the same offense out of Kirkland. The male was booked into custody for driving with a suspended license and his Kirkland warrant.
Order violation: 5:06 p.m., 700 block of Kirkland Cir. A male contacted police seeking advice on what to do with his estranged husband, whom he felt was possibly suicidal. During the call, the estranged husband was located walking past the victim’s residence, in violation of a domestic violence no contact order. The suspect was arrested for the order violation and booked into the Kirkland jail.
March 14
Domestic violence: 10:30 a.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St. A 39-year-old Kirkland male arrived at his mothers residence unannounced with no supervision and assaulted his brother by punching him. The fight was almost immediately broken up by their mother. The male left to avoid further conflict and another brother drove him to a park in the city.
March 13
Domestic violence: 1:04 p.m., 13100 block of NE 85th St. A 42-year-old Kirkland male was arrested for assault after attacking one of his roommates. The male was highly intoxicated and was the subject of three police contacts prior to his arrest.
Order violation: 11:06 p.m., 8400 block of NE 122nd Ave. A 57-year-old female was arrested for the violation of a restraining order after she contacted her estranged husband at his workplace. She proceeded to remove all of her clothing except her socks and stood on the public walkway in front of the business and ranted about her life for several minutes in front of witnesses. After a medical evaluation, lasting more than three hours, she was booked into SCORE.
Warrant arrest: 10 p.m., 12300 block of NE 70th St. A 33-year-old man was located and found to have multiple felony warrants, including possession of a stolen vehicle warrant out of Snohomish County. He was arrested on his DOC unlawful imprisonment felony warrant with no bail and transported to King County Jail.
March 11
Illegal substance call: 1 a.m., 12200 block of NE Totem Lake Way. A 34-year-old male was contacted on the back side of the Totem Lake Theater. He was found to have a felony illegal substance warrant out of the King County Sheriff’s Office, with bail set at $3,000. Drug paraphernalia was located on the man. He was arrested on the warrant and has been charged through investigation for the drug kit.
DUI: 10:50 p.m., 11400 block of NE 132nd St. A 22-year-old female was arrested for DUI after she ran over a pedestrian’s foot in the parking lot of the Woodlake Apartments. She provided two valid breath samples of .183 and .191. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was transported to EvergreenHealth hospital.
March 10
Assault: 5:14 p.m., 13500 block of NE 129th Pl. A 29-year-old female was arrested for attempting to punch her sister.
