Sean Gimenez | Obituary

12 June 1962 – 19 June 2024

Sean was born in Pittsburgh, PA in June 1962 to Eleanor Reed George (Nash) and Manuel Gimenez.

He attended summer camps and learned to ride horses, swim, shoot arrows and build campfires. He attended Mt Lebanon High and later transferred to Mountain View High in California.

He served in the Navy as a welder, stationed on the USS New Jersey out of Long Beach, CA. Sean later was employed as a roadie for top musicians in San Diego, ran the window at one of the busiest McDonald’s in the world (32nd Street Naval Station), and was a researcher and community supporter through his work with the Salvation Army and multiple charitable organizations in Kirkland, WA.

He was a fabulous dancer and won competitions internationally. He knew how to draw people in and help them feel welcomed and recognized, as a result he was widely known and cherished in the community for his observant, thoughtful, kind ways. He was always ready to lend a hand. Sean did not know how to lie or cheat, but instead showed others how to live a simple, purposeful life… spending his days in contemplation of the needs of others, and doting on his family and friends.

He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed.

Sean was preceded in death by his father, by his beloved mother, Eleanor (Reed George) Nash, and is survived by his sister, Kelly S. Reed, his nephews, David B. Haines Sanford and Benjamin Reed Goehner, his great-niece, Charlotte Eleanor E. Sanford, his niece-in-law, Alison Karpstein (Sanford) and his step-father, James F. Nash.

Memorial Service is Saturday, 10 August, 11:30-2:30, St. John’s Episcopal Church 105 State Street, Kirkland WA
