Timothy William Llewellyn
Timothy (Tim) William Llewellyn, 69, of Kirkland, WA, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017. He was born August 21, 1947 in Berkeley, CA, the son of the late Adam and Pearl (Watmough) Llewellyn.
He spent his youth in Portland, OR and Napa, CA. Tim received a Bachelor of Arts in 1969 from Stanford University where he received a full ROTC scholarship and he remained connected to other alumni through the years. He is also a 1982 graduate of Seattle University where he received his MBA. He served in the United States Navy during and after the Vietnam War before serving in the United States Navy Reserve where he was appointed a Commander in 1986, retiring in 1991. Tim was the Fleet Manager for the city of Kirkland for 22 years and was known and respected throughout the city and beyond. He was a member of the North American Fleet Association serving as treasurer for the Puget Sound chapter.
Tim loved folk music having performed as part of the Napa Valley Trio and was a big Jimmy Buffett fan, recently experiencing the premier of Escape to Margaritaville in San Diego.
Tim is survived by his long-time significant other Elaine Stuhlmiller, his two sons, Timothy Llewellyn (Sarah) and Evan Llewellyn (Margaret Meyer); four grandchildren, Adwen, Henry, Bennett and Calvin; a brother, Adam Llewellyn (Pam); three sisters, Polly Frenkel (Emanuel), Beth McLaughlin (John Paul) and Janet Llewellyn; nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Arrangements were handled by Lifetime Celebrations by Washelli. An open Celebration of Life is scheduled for Monday, August 14th 5-7 p.m. at the Marina Park Pavilion, 25 Lakeshore Plaza Drive, Kirkland, WA 98033. Hawaiian shirts requested but not required.
