The following is a joint statement from Rep. Ross Hunter, chair of the House Appropriations Committee, and Rep. Bruce Chandler, House Appropriations Committee ranking member. Hunter represents Kirkland from the 48th District.

As budget negotiations continue in Olympia, we’re meeting on a regular basis to resolve our differences and reach a compromise. The last few meetings have been productive and we’ve seen significant movement by both sides to come to the middle. As such, we’ve decided to cancel Wednesday’s House Appropriations meeting so we can continue having meaningful discussions that we believe will get us to a budget deal soon.
