The Lake Washington girls basketball team lost at Newport,55-38, Wednesday, as they scored double figures during just one quarter of the game.
The Kangs only managed to post 15 points during the first half, as much as Newport scored during the first quarter. Lake Washington kept pace with the Knights during the third quarter, but could not gain enough momentum to get back into the game. The Kangs’ biggest problem was slowing down Newport’s Caitlin Bennett, who scored 25 points. Kang player Kasey Coffey led the team with 11 points.
Lake Washington will host Bothell at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
