Kirkland-based Northwest Christian had five players score in double figures as the Beacons held off Northwest University, 71-66, to improve to 6-1 in Cascade Conference play and boost their season record to 12-4.

For Northwest U (7-11, 3-5 CCC), Dak Shagren led all scorers with 20 points while teammates Ben Tucakovic and Paul Loranger each scored 11 for the Eagles. Northwest U out rebounded NCU 46-41 with 14 offensive rebounds. Tomas Ogbaslassie grabbed 10 of those rebounds for the Eagles.

Omar Richards led Northwest Christian with 16 points and added 13 rebounds for a double-double. Kenny Blackwell and Jack Hackman each scored 13, Jay Mayernik scored 11 and Austin Kuemper contributed 10 for the Beacons. Northwest Christian shot 40 percent for the game, but would go six for 21 from beyond the 3-point line for 27 percent shooting.

Northwest U will be at home again tonight, hosting Corban University in the Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
