A nearly impenetrable defense by the Lake Washington High School girls basketball team against Ballard Friday led to a 47-30 victory. The Kangs began the game with a 15-7 lead and never looked back. Lake Washington held the Beavers to just four points during the third quarter and nine during the fourth. Offensively, the Kangs were led by Colleen Walsh with 10 points, while teammates Sam Brender, Hunter Hopkins and Taylor Solomon contributed nine points each. Lake Washington will travel to Newport High School for a 7:30 p.m. tip off Tuesday.
