Fabri Thunder Black 13U narrowly edged Thunder Gold Cascade 6-4 on Memorial Day to advance to the championship game. Michael Fitzsimmons was the winning pitcher.

“At the beginning of the season we hoped to see each other at the end of the tournament, we just hoped it was one game later and we didn’t have to knock each other out,” said Fabri coach Pablo Guerrero.

Thunder 13U squared off with the Kirkland Eagles in the championship showdown. Emily Tsujikawa pitched a gem through six-plus innings for the win, striking out nine batters. The Eagles mounted three-run rally in the seventh inning, but it was not enough to overcome Thunder’s seven runs. The final score of the championship game was 7-6.

Players on the Fabri Thunder 13U team included Michael Fitzsimmons, JR Hentges, Emily Tsujikawa, I-Ly Hsue, Spencer Colbert, Lindsay Tsujikawa, Ben Chorlton, Hunter Brown, Ben Root, Brandon Bendix, Ollie Day, and Andrew Morrisey.
