The Green Warriors, a 10U team in the Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association (LWYSA), took home the Year-End Tournament Championship medals after a muddy battle between two undefeated teams at 60 Acres.
With a 2-0 victory over the Eastlake Wolves in the title game, the Green Warriors finish with 12 wins, no losses and one tie, netting 45 goals and giving up only 10 during their unbeaten season.
In an intense final match, the Warriors broke a scoreless tie midway through the second half when Jude Trono put a perfect cross in front of Treyson Dill, who finished past a diving keeper. A few minutes later, Parker Larson sealed the win by converting a beautiful pass from Connor Woodhead into the goal. Aaron Thomas got the shutout in goal as Casey Burke, Ryan Edgin and Carson Schaeffer played outstanding defense, denying multiple scoring opportunities.
The Green Warriors are a team of boys from Keller and Frost elementary schools, coached by Matt Larson and Mark Trono.
