The Lake Washington boys basketball team scored 30 third-quarter points Friday in a victory over Interlake, 71-50, in Bellevue.
Both teams struggled to gain momentum during the first quarter, as neither team scored in double digits. The second quarter was also slow on the offensive end of the court but Lake Washington pushed ahead 20-14 by halftime.
The third quarter saw the Kangs sprint up and down the court past the Saints, outscoring the home team by 17.
Interlake had its best eight minutes of the game during the fourth quarter, scoring 21 points, but it was too little too late.
Lake Washington was led by Jeff Staudacher with 22 points, while Kelly Guy and Wonjun Im each finished with eight points for the Kangs.
The win is the Kangs’ second of the season. Lake Washington opened the 2013-2014 campaign with a 60-42 victory against Redmond on Wednesday.
