Juanita 64, Sammamish 23
Juanita bookended Sammamish with dominating quarters on the way to a 64-23 win Friday.
The Rebels (5-9 overall , 3-3 KingCo) sprinted out to a fast start and outscored Sammamish 19-4 in the first quarter. Juanita finished the game with an 18-2 advantage in the fourth quarter.
Tori Close led Juanita with 14 points. Olivia Marshall scored 12. Annie Mullen and Mandy Wilson scored 10 points each.
Juanita is now in fourth place in the KingCo 3A/2A, but the Rebels have a tough test ahead. From Jan. 30-Feb. 5 the team plays five games against Bellevue, Mercer Island, Liberty and Mount Si. That’s five games in seven days against the top teams in the KingCo.
Boys
Juanita 55, Sammamish 43
Ryon Cunnigan’s big night led to a 55-43 win against Sammamish for Juanita Friday.
Cunnigan scored a game-high 16 points for the Rebels (5-10, 3-3). The junior guard is averaging 12 points per game in his past five. Jake Ichikawa and Kris Otterholt each scored eight points for Juanita.
The Rebels are now in fourth place in the KingCo, one game behind Mount Si.
Ingraham 61, Juanita 22
Juanita stayed close for the first quarter, but Ingraham pulled away to a 61-22 win Jan. 20.
The Rebels trailed by just three after the first quarter, but Ingraham turned on the heat with a 16-4 scoring advantage in the second. Josiah Jackson led Juanita with five points. Cunnigon, Ichikawa and Dahrius Mills each scored four points.
Lake Washington
Girls
Woodinville 53, Lake Washington 30
Lake Washington fell to Woodinville 53-30 Friday.
Kasey Coffey led the Kangs (3-9, 1-7) with 10 points. Colleen Walsh added eight.
Lake Washington is now fourth in the KingCo 4A Crown division.
Redmond 62, Lake Washington 53
Despite at late surge, Lake Washington still lost to Redmond 62-53 Jan. 21.
The Kangs trailed by 18 heading into the final quarter. They outscored Redmond 19-10 in the fourth but it wasn’t quite enough.
Olivia Lewis, Kate Rasmussen and Walsh each scored 10 points.
Boys
Woodinville 43, Lake Washington 42
Lake Washington took a tough, 43-42 loss to Woodinville Friday.
Greyson Blue led the Kangs (4-9, 2-7) with 15 points. The senior post is averaging 15.8 points per game. Alex Houghton and Kramer Taylor each scored eight for Lake Washington. The Kangs are in sixth place in the KingCo 4A Crown division.
Redmond 60, Lake Washington 45
One big quarter was the difference between a win and a loss for Redmond and Lake Washington Jan. 20. Redmond outscored the Kangs 15-7 in the third quarter and earned at 60-45 win.
Blue led Lake Washington with 15 points in the game. Tyler Staudacher and Spencer Wozeniak each scored 10 points.
