The hope lives on for the Juanita High baseball team, still alive in the KingCo 3A tournament following a dramatic 3-2 win over Interlake on Monday, May 9 at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.

Blake Voutour scored following a single from Connor Riedel in the top of the fourth inning with two outs, giving Juanita a 3-1 lead.

The Rebels (8-14 overall) would have one heck of a time defending that lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Interlake put runners on second and third with one out before picking up a run on a wild pitch. With the tying run on third base, Interlake picked up a walk before JD Worcester delivered a line drive to center field, stranding two Interlake runners.

Next, the Rebels are scheduled to play the loser of the May 10 KingCo championship game between Lake Washington and Mercer Island at 6 p.m. on May 11 at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.

Juanita can still make the state tournament with two more wins.
