The Juanita boys fell to Liberty Friday night a conference match up in the Rebels gym. The Patriots won 64-63.
Liberty had the early lead, with a 15-10 spread at the end of the first quarter. Juanita scored 19 points in the second to take over on the top with a 29-28 game. In the second half Juanita once again out scored Liberty with a 15-13 third quarter. Things were tied up at end of regulation, but Liberty 23 points in the final minutes of the game sealed the win.
Tynan Gilmore scored 25 points for the Patriots during the win. Ryan Reid had 15 points for Juanita, while Landyn Milburn had 14 and Brett Hamre added 11. Sean brennan had nine, Avery Britton had seven and Ty Eng posted six.
On Saturday the team traveled to Bellevue College for the Washington Hoop Challenge, where they beat Battle Ground 42-41.
The first ended with a 6-3 lead for the Rebels, and they added another nine in the second half. Eleven points in the third quarter increased the lead, but Battle Ground edged in closer in the fourth with 22 points. Juanita held strong to take the win.
Milburn had 14 points during the match, while Reid had 11. Eng posted nine points for the team while Hamre added eight.
The Juanita girls team lost their first league game of the season, falling 58-46 to Liberty on Friday night.
Liberty outscored the Rebels 11-5 in the first quarter, but Juanita bounced back with 16 points in the second. But a 25 point third quarter helped the Patriots seal the win in the third.
Kate Cryderman had 24 points dor the Rebels, the team high, while Molly Grager had seven, Taylor Lloyd had four, Bre Carter and Molly Steck had three. Winnie Levitt had two points, as did Mary Carter and Mikayla Jones had one point.
