The Juanita High School boys basketball team lost to Mercer Island Friday 50-34. The Rebels struggled to score from the floor during the first quarter as the Islanders built a 10-2 lead. Despite the lackluster scoring during the first quarter, Juanita was only outscored by one point during the second period, 14-13. The Rebels managed to keep pace during the third quarter but fell further behind during the fourth quarter for the loss. Ryon Cunnigan was the only Juanita player to score in double figures, posting 16 points, while teammate Kris Otterholt had nine.

Juanita will travel to Bellevue Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip off.
