The Juanita cross country team posted solid times during meets last week, including the Hole in the Wall Cross Country Invitational at Lakewood High School last Saturday.
The girls team finished 17th overall with a total time of 1:55.07 and a team average of 23:01, while the boys finished 15th with a total time of 1:32:44 and an average time of 18:32.
During that meet, which had 24 total teams participate, Molly Grager was 25th overall with a time of 20:27. Her teammate Shayna Van Den Boomen was 89th at 22:41.16, while Kathryn Wutcher took 91st with a time of 22:41.72.
In the boys race Santos Zaid was 26th with a time of 17:22, while James Bauman took 34th at 17:28.
The week before the Rebels competed at Marymoor Park against Interlake and Mercer Island. The boys finished third with 71 points overall. Zaid took 7th with a time of 17:15, while Bauman was 10th at 17:21. Caleb Ferrell was 15th in 17:58.
In the girls race the Rebels also finished third, with 75 points. Grager was 7th overall at 21:26, Van Den Boomen was 14th at 22:36, while Rachel Blanch took 17th in 22:55.
Lake Washington faces off against Mount Si
The Lake Washington cross country teams faced off against Mount Si on Oct. 6 in Snoqualmie.
In the boys race Josh Deshazer took second overall with a time of 18:35, while teammate freshman Devon Grove was fourth at 18:38. Kenny Drabble took sixth in 18:40, Jason Curlins followed in seventh at 18:53.
In the girls race Olivia Whidby had the fastest time for the Kangs, finishing third in 22:13. Her teammates Audrey Nordness was fourth at 22:25 and Mackenzie Toher was fifth in 22:26. Kaley Shae rounded out the Lake Washington girls team, finished 16th in 35:14.
